Reed HR are working alongside a large Educational Establishment based in Central London who are recruiting for a part time HR Advisor (28 hours)on a fixed term contract for 2 years.This is a hybrid role so travel into the office will be required.Purpose of the roleTo provide pro-active and day to day advice to College Heads of Departments and Managers on all people related matters in line with College policies and ACAS code of practice.Develop and deliver short bite sized training sessions on people related activities for managers including topics such as: selection, performance development, early complaints resolution, managing attendance and adjustments.To assist the Head of HR and HR Officer in delivery of HR projects such as modernisation of our people policies and reviewing policies, induction, employee handbook to reflect hybrid working and EDI.Main responsibilities- Meet with managers on a monthly basis to review how new starters are settling in, address trends from staff survey feedback and exit interviews, provide early advice to help develop staff performance and personal/career development, good levels of attendanceand engagement, build team morale and support managers in undertaking appraisals and staff one to ones.-Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to heads of department and managers on all people matters including probations, conduct, attendance (including Occupational Health referrals where needed), performance, pay, training and workplace adjustment needs.- Lead and chair the College’s quarterly staff award scheme, including promoting the scheme and encouraging nominations, chairing the selection of winners.- With the assistance of the HR Officer, review our current college-wide on-boarding offering, launch new process once agreed to include support pack for managers and others involved in overall on-boarding delivery to enable them to deliver their aspectsof Induction.-Work with the HR Officer to develop and propose to the Head of HR a schedule of people related policies which need developing and updating. Produce first draft policy designs/updates which take account of EDI and Hybrid working model for review and signoff by Head of HR.-Recommend to Head of HR, develop and deliver a suite of bite sized master classes for managers around key HR related topics such as recruitment, appraisal related activities, early resolution of staff complaints, supporting good attendance, staff withdisabilities. Deliver agreed training plan.- Provide advice and guidance on complex recruitment issues and assist managers with interview testing and question design and interviewing as needed. Support Head of HR in the:- Launch and management of the new College appraisal scheme. - Delivery of other wellbeing initiatives as needed including the College’s Annual Away Day and End of year get together. - Analysis of staff pulse and subject matter surveys as needed. - Delivery of other projects as needed
