Job Description

Finance Assistant, £26-34k 6 months FTC Burton on Trent, qualified, part qualified or QBEDo you have a strong finance background and are available within the next few weeks for an exciting 6-month contract to work in a prestige service based organisastion based in BurtonIf so, my client needs your support to assist with delivering financial support to the internal stakeholders to ensure the business has all the financial information it requires to manage budgets during the year, help to drive future financial plans andsupport the company in making financial decisions.This is a unique Finance Assistant opportunity for a 6-month contract which reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner and supports the finance team.As Finance Assistant, you will be communicating with internal stakeholders to understand the income generated and cost drivers of the business and ensure all the information is collated and produced on time.So as the Finance Assistant, what will you be doing

  • Finance Control Ensure the timely completion of cost trackers by the business and reconciled at the end of each month;
  • Revenue Recognition To work with Operations to understand and validate the accuracy of the revenue recognition across the projects in the month;
  • Management Reporting Support month-end management accounts reporting - including journals, running standard reports for the business as well as Balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Project Analysis ensure the deferred/accrued income is applied, and cost analysis;
  • Process Improvements Building process maps in commercial finance as required;
  • Query Management Dealing with PO discrepancies and PO closedowns;
  • Adhoc Duties: Working with the finance team and executing duties as reasonably expected within the posts scope and grading;
  • Compliance Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.
So, as the Finance Assistant what would we like from you
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent AAT or QBE
  • knowledge of financial accounting standards;
  • At least two years of relevant working experience in Management and Financial Accounting;
  • Experience in preparing financial accounts and reconciliations;
  • Proactive in looking for ways of improving the efficiency and quality of output within the financial processes;
  • A collaborative team player, adept in working within a team and building relationships across different teams/divisions;
  • Have excellent Excel skills, especially in financial modelling (Vlookups, Pivot Tables);
  • Use of Anaplan and Great Plains is a distinct advantage.
