Job Description

Operations / General ManagerNantwich£38k - £42kThis is a standalone Operations Manager role so the client is looking for a practical implementer who can draw upon support from the wider business function experts as required. This role would suit an operations management professional with experience ofworking within engineering/manufacturing environments.Ideally, you will have experience working within engineering/manufacturing businesses with a breadth of operational functions, manufacturing, quality, H&S, Finance etcKey Accountabilities:

  • Allocate the Sites Scheduled Workload on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis using the task sheets, schedule plans and occasional work instructions as required.
  • The supervision of staff in the delivery of tasks, ensuring working practices and H&S procedures are defined and adhered to, in the timely and cost-effective delivery of outputs.
  • Manage the definition of work plans, repair schemes and estimates.
  • Liaising with customers to understand and advise on available solutions and assisting the General manager in describing the Best of Breed solution.
  • Daily time recording of all staff, clocking on/off and hours against specific tasks.
  • Scheduling & Prioritising Yard movements, maximising the efficient use of all resources.
  • Progress chasing against the Project and Site Schedules, informing the Ops Director and General manager of Slippage or Opportunities, and identifying Cost and Logistics issues.
  • Ensuring material, consumables and components are available and their timely delivery.
  • Develop skills transfer arrangements, apprentice development schemes and staff continuous improvement plans, in maintaining and improving the workforce skill set.
  • Conducting Occasional and Final Quality assessments on all tasks.
  • Accommodating timely submission of invoices.
  • Maintenance schemes for all equipment and workshops, ensuring Fit for Purpose availability.
