My client a pioneer in their field require an experienced MS SQL DBA/Database Administrator to join the team.This role is due to the clients continued growth and success.Main responsibilities:Experience of Knowledge and expertise of MS SQL Server version 2008 onwards.Expert understanding of MS Access and VBA the clients is moving away from this and replacing with Dataware housing and Data Analytic tools but this may take up to 12 monthsKnowledge of working in Virtual environments.Ability to write and optimise complex stored procedures, views, functions in MS SQL as well as writing and interrogating complex queries and maintaining SQL Agent jobs.Use of report writing software present data in an informative and clear way.Working with data from in-house systems running MS SQL and externally hosted systems via API’s.Management of stored procedures.Ability in PowerShell is also desirable.Database performance tuning, optimisation and indexingTo help design and build database schemas with integrity and scalability with data access layers that are optimised for performance.Develop, document and maintain support processes, procedures and solutions.Responsible for the setup/management of database security, ensuring that the correct production policies are adhered to in line with our Organisational procedures.Database replication/synchronizationThere will also be a requirement to help with Desktop support during busy periods.Essential SkillsWindows Server 2008 onwardsMS SQL Server 2008 onwardsStrong Network awarenessMS Access & ExcelCan do attitude.
