Exciting New opportunity to develop specialist skills in Acquired Brain injury RehabilitationWe are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team at Ty Aberdafen, 18 hours a week.Situated in Llanelli, Ty Aberdafen is a purpose-built specialist facility, offering flexible options of specialist care and support for people with acquired brain injury and complex needs. It forms part of the UK-wide network of services provided by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT).BIRT is the UKs leading charity providing assessment and rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain injury. We believe it is never too late to benefit from rehabilitation.In this role you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team using the neurobehavioural model.This is a unique community based inpatient setting with a psychological approach. The service users may have a range of complex and challenging needs including cognitive, behavioural, physical and emotional difficulties following brain injury.You will have scope to work with service users in a holistic way to address all aspects of recovery and to regain maximal independence including participation in social, leisure and vocational activities.There is access to specialist training, supervision and development opportunities and you will be encouraged to get involved in service development and research within the trust.You will be able to work flexibly, creatively and autonomouslyThe ideal candidate will have:- A diploma or a degree in occupational therapy and registered with HCPC- At least four years post registration experience and 2 years within neurological rehabilitation- Experience supervising and training others- A valid UK driving licenceBenefits will include:- A competitive salary of £20,242- 38 days holiday entitlement (inclusive of bank holidays)- Life assurance- Employer pension contribution- Nationwide staff benefitsPlease also see the Job description and Person specification for full details.
