Job Description

Workshop ManagerMaidstone£35k-£45k (based on 40 hours pw) DOE + bonuses + bens + overtime - earning potential £45-50k ++++We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to manage a busy workshop working on a range of commercial vehicles.This is a varied role and will require a hands-on approach, leading by example and with a view to development of the role long term.This company are going places, with significant growth within the last year and ambitious plans for further expansion!The Workshop Manager within this Commercial Automotive environment will be responsible for:

  • Installing products onto vehicles following specific guidelines.
  • Overseeing a small team and supporting the recruitment process of the team with company growth.
  • Travellingacross the UK and overseas to showcase products, promote sales, and provide technical support, including attending trade events in Europe when required (this will be on occasion)
  • Stock management and ensuring the accurate scheduling of parts for installation
  • Liaisingwith other internaldepartments to support the development of new products as well as improving existing products.
  • Qualitycheckof products, carryingout inspections to ensure standards remain at the highest level.
  • Identifying and resolving issuesthat occur throughout the process of installation.
  • Day to day management of the team, inclusive of performance management reviews
  • Working closely with the Directors and other members of the SMT, providing reports and working collaboratively
  • Suggesting ideas for improvements across the business
  • Any other duties as required
The successful candidate will have / be:
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry working on industrial and commercialvehicles in a technical capacity.
  • A strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics related to industrial and commercialvehicles.
  • Previous management experience with a lead by example mentality
  • High standards in approach to work
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
  • A flexibleapproach to workinghours as overseastravel will be required.
  • The ability to organiseothers and maintain a cleanworkingenvironment.
