Job Description

Purchasing ManagerUp to £50,000 DOEMid KentMonday to FridayFull TimeOur long standing, successful client based in Medway are currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their thriving and inclusive team.My client is looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager to take responsibility for the purchasing team as well as sourcing and procurement of reliable and good quality materials and products.This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody to take the reigns and really make their own! My client is specifically looking for somebody who has previous experience in implementing systems, or the willingness to be able to do this!Duties include:

  • To assist all areas of the business with any purchasing requirements
  • Streamlining processes and implementing systems
  • Being the first point of contact for all Supply Chain related enquiries
  • Organising and monitoring supplier performance; ensuring that lead times are met
  • Accountability for day to day purchasing activities ensuring that customer needs are delivered to agreed budgets, quality expectations and SLAs
  • Implementing and managing optimum inventory levels to ensure product availability whilst minimising obsolescence and driving inventory and cost reduction
  • Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure that the agreed commercial and delivery terms for goods are met and reviewed, and quality standards are adhered to
  • Achieving best value for money on all procurement goods, works and services, and reducing the cost of procurement processes and ensuring continuous improvement
  • Maintaining the internal database with updated prices and products as necessary
  • Creating purchase and works orders
  • Manage all personnel files, ensuring the most current and up to date information is on file
The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • A CIPS qualification or a desire to work towards this
  • Able to demonstrate a time where you have implemented a system
  • Be proactive and flexible with a positive attitude
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills including Excel
  • A great team player with a friendly and polite personality
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to use your initiative and make logical decisions
  • Have good time management skills
