Job Description

Reporting to the Account Manager you will need to ensure accurate on-time supply of raw materials and consumables, to the manufacturing teams. Ensuring best value for the company by selecting the right product, price, quality and supplier reliability.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlacing and monitoring the progrees of ordersPrice materials and select the most appropriate supplierIdentify and deal with issues as they arise, liaising with colleagues, suppliers and the Account ManagerDevelope and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a productive and competitive relationshipMonitor supplier performanceUse and maintain purchasing system to monitor the progress of orders and suppliersEnsure that the current supplier performance date is loggedResposible for the import and transport lifecycle of shipments throughout the whole delivery cycleExperience of working in a Manufacturing environment essentialSkills required for the positionGood level of IT skills - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word and ExcellMinimum of 12 months previous work experience in a Purchasing environmentPrevious experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally working with an MRP systemSelf-motivated and able to work on own initiativeVery good written and communication skillsGood attention to detailGood organisational skillsFlexible and adaptable - does what needs to be doneThis is a permanent position and benefits includeOn site parkingHours 08.00 - 16.00 Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 12 Noon FridayPension SchemeHealth Scheme22 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays£22,000 p.a.
