Job Description

Start Date: Immediate Pay: KR3 We are looking for a part time (Mon-Fri) 26.25hours Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 to support in-class learning in themorning and additional learning in the afternoon. The position will betemporary (one year ) in the first instance, although there may be thepossiibility of extending it longer term. We are searching for an enthusiastic person tojoin our friendly and supportive team. We need a TA with flexibility,experience in learning support and the ability to contribute to our schoolscommunity and vision. The successful applicant will be sensitive tochildrens varying needs, and be able to work under the guidance of theteaching team and Leadership Team. Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ 2,and have some knowledge of the development and learning styles of children andspecial educational needs. Additionally, knowledge of Letters and Sounds andthe teaching of phonics, would be helpful. Alongside this, a knowledgeof, and experience of, techniques and resources for working with pupils withspeech and language needs, BRP (or other recognised readinginterventions) and dyslexia would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support an individual and groups of children inachieving the lesson objectives
  • Feed back to the class teacher, keeping records ofprogress and behaviour and marking pupils work
  • Support the social, emotional, behaviouralneeds of pupils
  • Supervise lunchtime as a Midday Meals Supervisoron a daily basis
  • Communicate with parents
  • Prepare resources and some administrativework
  • Help with displaying childrens workcreatively.
