Job Description

About the role:We have an exciting opportunity to start a rewarding career with AXA Commercial as a Property Claims Handler! You’ll be based in our newly refurbished Bolton office and will receive world class training to start your career with us.Our Claims teamis responsible for managing all claims relating to Commercial Property. As part of the wider Claims function including Casualty, Motor Engineering and Commercial Motor.You’ll contribute to the strategic objectives of AXA Commercial whilsthelping our customers protect what matters most to them. Were particularly interested in speaking with established Claims Handlers that have property claims experience.At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. Youll work at least 40% of your week away from home from our Boltonoffice. We’re also happy toconsider flexible working arrangements, such as part-time or condensed hours, which you can discuss with your Reed Talent Solutions Consultant.What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing your own portfolio of claims offering coaching and development to colleagues where applicable.
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service by providing relevant and accurate information to every customer based on your professional expertise and training.
  • Using your initiative as well as information resources available to provide the best outcome for the customer.
  • Answering calls adhering to standard response times whilst ensuring accurate and timely completion of case notes, logs and diaries for each customer.
  • Utilising strong attention to detail, remaining calm in the face of challenge to effectively help customers when they need us the most.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:Your working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, totalling 35 hours per week.   • Experience in a Property Claims environment handing a portfolio of claims.
  • Proactive management of own caseload and a commitment to customer service
  • Ability to make accurate and pragmatic policy and legal liability decisions.
  • Developed quantum assessment and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of underwriting practice and philosophy, policy wordings and relationships issues is desirable but non-essential.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with anannual declaration in interim years.What we offerAt AXA UK, we’re appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that.
