Job Description

Category and Commercial Solutions Manager - hybrid working. Can you help drive improved ways of working between retailers and manufacturers Are you passionate about facilitating collaboration, vision, and partnerships to drive transformation acrossthe FMCG industry We are looking for a dynamic Category & Commercial Solutions Manager who understands the pressures manufacturers and retailers are working under and has a desire to help make changes in the industry to improve ways of working together.About the Category & Commercial Solutions Manager role:Be part of the team to deliver the Solutions plan, creating and delivering profitable Solutions projects, working in an agile way. Responsibility for the delivery of projects covering category, commercial, and retailer products. This could include developmentof teams, strategy development projects and performance improvement initiatives.About the Solutions team at IGDThe purpose of the Solutions team at IGD is to own the:

  • Product plan and strategy for Solutions, creating and developing Solutions and commercial learning products.
  • Delivery of Solutions projects and training courses.
  • Pre-commissioned co-creation of Solutions to meet customer needs, in collaboration with the customer and IGDs customer team.
  • IP development, through knowledge and process, that underpins our Solutions products.
The responsibilitiesReporting to the Head of Category & Commercial Solutions, your responsibilities include:
  • Identify and co-create experience-relevant Solutions projects, based on the customer brief, focused on the functional areas of commercial capability, category management and retail.
  • Collaboration with the customer team to identify opportunities, creating Solutions propositions that meet customer needs.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered against a day rate target to achieve required profitability, to ensure Solutions deliver revenue and profits in line with agreed budgets.
  • Support the delivery of IGDs open workshop programme, delivering and facilitating in virtual and face-to-face workshops
  • Proposal writing, telling a compelling story to effectively communicate we have understood the customers needs and have a solution to help them
  • Ownership and management of projects, ensuring project teams have capability and capacity to deliver excellent projects for customers.
  • Support ongoing product innovation, helping generate new profitable revenue streams.
  • Help ensure customer relevancy of Solutions proposition through customer and industry understanding and feedback, to set the product plan for your area
What you bring
  • Functional industry experience in commercial / category management roles or at a retailer.
  • Understanding of the commercial interface between retailers & manufacturers
  • Solid knowledge of global grocery retail trends.
  • Passion for consumer goods industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer first mindset.
  • Low ego, high integrity and values-led with strong customer focus.
  • Credible at Director and senior management level with strong influencing capability
  • Collaborative approach with partnership mindset, able to build win-win relationships.
  • Strong project management skills to manage projects through their entire cycle
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, and driven with a growth mindset and results focus.
  • Open to learn, able to immerse in an unknown topic, conduct desk and field research, analyse data, and convert data into actionable insights.
  • Presentation skills, ability to deliver presentations to senior audiences, virtually or in person.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally.
  • Strong team play spirit to work in a matrix organisation.
