Job Description

Data EngineerMarket leading EPos & Retail Software Flexible work hours & ability to work from home Expanding business with future progression opportunities £35,000 - £45,000Are you interested in Data Warehouses and ArchitectureDo you have deep knowledge of SQL including SSRSWe are working with one of the worlds first cloud-based EPoS and retail management platforms. As a forward thinking modern business, you would have the opportunity to start & finish work flexibly with the option to work from home.Due to recent growth, we are looking for a proactive and dynamic Data Architect to join a collaborative team of Data Specialists. Working as a Data Architect you will analyse system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. You will have a passion for turning insight into recommendations. You will use your experience of SQL (particularly SSRS) and familiarity with ETL tools to enhance data storage and performance. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop data warehouses using a variety of reporting streams.   • Develop database and data warehouse solutions to store and retrieve key information
  • Identify, agree and implement improvements to ways of working (including tools used, processes and coding standards) that provide a better experience for our customers or improve productivity of the team or our wider business.
  • Help to define security and backup procedures whilst also optimising new and current database systems
  • Set up and maintain automated ETL processes (including monitoring) and have a keen interest in supporting documentation.
  • Essential Qualifications - Data Engineer
  • Proven working experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar role
  • Advanced SQL knowledge in both MySQL & SSRS
  • Deep knowledge of building and enhancing data warehouses
  • Commercial AWS experience ideally with Redshift
  • Experience in using analytical technologies to consolidate multiple data sets, summarise findings and present your recommendations is key
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc, programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
