Job Description

ParaplannerLocation: Cambridge, CB23Salary: £40K - £46K per annum, DOEContract: Full Time, PermanentHours: 37.5 hours per week, working hours 8:30am to 5.00pm. Hybrid working. Flexibility will be considered. Occasionally, it may be necessary to work outside of normal office hours to meet the demands of the role.We are looking for a pro-active individual to join our team to provide Paraplanning and operational support in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business; to ensure smooth delivery of client service.The benefits:

The company:A newly formed company, specialising in all areas of financial planning, are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to support the Financial Planners. Part of a large network, we are a small but growing team based just outside of Cambridge. The role is fulltime, with hybrid working available. The successful candidate will be at a minimum, Diploma qualified with an ambition to develop professionally. They will play an integral part in business operations.This role will cover a wide range of paraplanning and client servicing tasks.The role - key duties and responsibilities:
  • To enter client data into financial planning software and back-office systems
  • To maintain an understanding of published materials relating to financial services and products
  • To use research technology and third-party software to produce compliant research
  • To prepare client illustrations and application documentation for Financial Planners
  • To create suitability reports for new business and existing clients
  • To deliver financial modelling scenarios via cashflow planning
  • To prepare client review documents
  • To maintain client files
  • To liaise with clients
  • To sit on the Due Diligence panel to input into products and strategies used
  • To ensure compliance requirements are met
  • To attend client meetings with Financial Planners at request
The candidate:
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised and reliable
  • Pro-active in their approach to developing aspects of the business
  • Previous experience in a Paraplanning role
Experience and Qualifications - essential:
  • 3+ years’ experience within the independent sector of the financial services industry in a paraplanning role
  • Have excellent knowledge of investment, life and pensions products and current legislation
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of Income Tax, CGT, IHT, Trusts and DC and pension transfers
  • Have broad knowledge of esoteric products, including VCT and EIS investments and structured products
  • Understand the importance and benefits of lifetime cashflow modelling
  • Previous experience in assisting with the construction of policies and procedures
  • Be a resourceful and creative problem solver, capable of embracing the role quickly
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and new challenges
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex strategies with clarity
  • Analyse and evaluate information in detail, and reach suitable conclusions as needed
  • Remain focused and motivated to deliver an exceptional level of customer service to clients, third parties and colleagues
  • Relational in their approach to working with advisors, clients, and providers
