Job Description

Speech and Language Therapist (Part-Time)

  • Location: Torton, Kidderminster, Worcestershire
  • Salary: Actual salary £5,260.41 - £8,916.13 (FTE £30,618.00 - £51,896.00) dependent on experience
  • Hours: 8 hours per week (1 day) – Term time only
ReedEducation is working in partnership with an exciting new school in Kidderminsterto recruit a Speech and Language Therapist. This innovative school caters to students aged 5-19 with ASC/SEMH needs. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing serviceand make a significant impact as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Main purpose of the role:
  • Provide high-standard speech and language therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Offer advice and training to parents, carers, and professionals in line with treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support the communication needs of young people at Wilden View School.
Key duties:
  • Implement speech and language interventions as outlined in students’ statutory documentation.
  • Conduct baseline communication assessments for all students and write SMART targets for education plans.
  • Lead and deliver training to the education team in social communication.
  • Carry out a whole-school classroom language audit and provide SLT recommendations.
  • Plan and implement individual communication programmes with accessible guidelines for delegation.
  • Monitor and review communication aims/programmes and adjust as necessary.
  • Attend and contribute to annual reviews, providing clear and concise written reports.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
  • Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC.
  • Professional Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Adherence to RCSLT clinical guidelines and HCPC standards.
  • At least two years’ post-graduate experience as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Conditions, and the EHCP process.
