Community Engagement and Fundraising OfficerKennford, Exeter, Devon (with travel across the region)About UsDevon in Sight is Devon’s leading sight loss charity providing FREE practical help and advice to people who are blind or partially sighted to help them live life to the full.Our award-winning services help people with sight loss across Devon, providing vital support and advice to enable those affected by sight loss to live happy, independent lives. Our Sight Loss Service focuses on four key areas, Information, Advice and Guidance(IAG), Independent Living, Health and Wellbeing, and Influencing Change (making the world a better place for people with sight loss).We are now seeking a Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.The Benefits- Salary of £23,000 - £24,950 per annum, dependent on experience- 28 days’ annual leave, including statutory Bank Holidays (with three 3 extra days to be taken between Christmas and New Year)- Pension scheme which includes a 3% employer contribution- Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme- Free Parking availableThis is a terrific opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to develop a career to join our committed organisation.You’ll become part of a dedicated team who are making a real difference in the lives of individuals with sight loss as you play a crucial role in supporting and empowering those in need, contributing to a more inclusive and accessible community.We’ll provide all the support, training and assistance you need to make a success of your role plus we’ll welcome your fresh and exciting ideas to make sure every community, engagement and fundraising initiative is memorable!So, if you want to join a supportive environment, where we’ll emphasise your wellbeing and ensure you have the tools you need to thrive, then apply today!The RoleAs a Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer, you will maximise our income generation by expanding funding streams.We will support you in engaging the local community and businesses to become supporters of Devon in Sight, as well as organising events, campaigns and small fundraising grant applications.You will work in collaboration with the local community and supporters to plan and deliver a range of fundraising activities such as sponsored walks, parachute jumps, etc.Additionally, you will (once trained):- Create and promote a calendar of fundraising events- Identify suitable volunteers, business links and community connections- Recruit and steward fundraising volunteers- Record data accurately using our CRM- Promote fundraising opportunities on all social media platforms- Ensure all regulations are adhered to in relation to fundraising, events and activitiesAbout YouTo be considered as a Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer, you will need:- Excellent communication skills- Good organisational skills- Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel and Client Relationship Management databases or equivalent- At a minimum, GCSEs or equivalent at level 4 / Grade C or above in Maths and English- Access to your own vehicle (including Access to Work)This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.Other organisations may call this role Fundraising Officer, Community Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Assistant, Charity Fundraising, Officer, Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, or Communications and Engagement Officer.Webrecruit and Devon in Sight are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
