The JobLead the Supply Chain Team in driving the continuous evolution of approach to production, purchasing and customer fulfillment. Drive production and purchasing to meet demand and be an integral part of planning that demand with the key stakeholders. Manage inventory as if you owned it yourself. This is an opportunity to build the very fabric of the business and make an indelible mark.The CompanyThey manage a product portfolio worth over £40m at retail including award-winning challenger brands supported by best in class manufacturers across the UK, Europe and US to work with UK Retailers in the private label space.* For the right candidate an opportunity to assume full control of the Ops Team with 3 additional reports* Drive the continuous improvement of supply & demand business processes; bringing fresh and innovative thinking* Play a key role in the generation of effective Demand Plans for key brand portfolio collaborating with customer and internal stakeholders* Own the generation of optimised Production Plans* Own purchasing of all raw materials and ensure Inventory is well managed* Perform regular virtual inventory stock reconciliations and own managing scheduled physical counts* Work with supplier base forging strong, commercial and sustainable partnerships* Lead the resolution of all day to day supply issues and failed deliveries into customers* Monitor expiry dates across portfolio to and drive through resolution to maximise return on valueKnowledge & Experience* Strong background in an FMCG supply environment; previous exposure to third party manufacturing is a definite advantage* Know all about the essentials you need to sort out when purchasing materials* Know all about the essentials you need to account for when issuing works orders* Know what to look out for in a long list of on hand finished and raw material* Working knowledge of basic demand planning concepts and the kinds of events that cause good plans to go awry is a definite advantageQualifications & Sklls* A degree is not essential but preferred; either way you need to be super smart, very numerate and able to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly* Excellent project management and prioritisation skills - you have an intrinsic feel for time, a logical approach to what may need to be done to pull it off, and how long things will take. You can pick the best path through the battlefield to deliver the best outcome* Understand how to read and present data to make it meaningful to people who are a lot less close to it than you* Very very good with Excel; you haven’t just been on a course once, you breathe it and can select the right functions and techniques with barely a thought (Minimum: Pivot Tables & Charts, HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX, MATCH)* You get a kick out of mastering new software quickly and making it work hard for you* French and/or Spanish would definitely be an excellent string to your bow
