Job Description

About the Service / DepartmentHestias Highbury Grove Recovery House is a recovery focused and psychologically informed 12 bed residential house where adult (18+) residents of Islington and Camden can stay for up to 14 days, if they are experiencing a mental health crisis.During their stay residents can expect high quality, non-clinical support from trained staff to reduce their crisis and make plans to avoid future crisis, using a range of interventions including; 1-1 support, safety plans, wellness & recovery action plansand social prescribing(Hiring Managers, please include information about your service including selling points)About the role

  • Support clients throughout their stay, to reduce their crisis and to make plans to avoid future crisis by liaising with statutory and other voluntary sector providers of mental health services to promote multi-agency working for the benefit of the clients
  • Carry out support and interventions in line with organizational values and the ethos of recovery and co-production, as well as in line with policies and procedures
  • Provide excellent quality support and interventions to clients staying at Highbury Grove Recovery House (HGRH) who are experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Take part in effective consultation with individual clients and groups of clients, both about local delivery and development and about organisational policy and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of customer contact, support and interventions provided and any outcomes
  • Maintain all other records relating to the upkeep and maintenance of the service, including building health and safety checks. This includes electronic based records
About you
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting people with mentalhealth and complex needs
  • A strong understanding of Recovery approaches and co-production incl. knowledge of issues affecting those individuals
  • The ability to create and deliver activities with clients which helpthem reduce anxieties, develop their confidence and self-esteemand help them to plan for a self-defined recovery journey
  • The ability to keep and transpose all monitoring requirementsinto workbooks for internal analysis and reporting to funders
  • The motivation to maintain consistently high delivery standardsand service user standards, even when faced with unpredictablebehavior and potentially challenging situations
  • Knowledge of wider legislation to support people in a MH crisisincluding welfare reform, the Care Act, Housing pathways
  • Ability to engage clients in assessments and to co-produce,implement, record, review and audit support and safetyassessment plans
  • Understanding of basic buildings safety issues, and whatconstitutes a repair
  • Ability to workflexibly, specifically out of hours working during the evening,weekends /bank holidays
