Job Description

About the Service / DepartmentHestias Highbury Grove Recovery House is a recovery focused and psychologically informed 12 bed residential house where adult (18+) residents of Islington and Camden can stay for up to 14 days, if they are experiencing a mental health crisis. During theirstay residents can expect high quality, non-clinical support from trained staff to reduce their crisis and make plans to avoid future crisis, using a range of interventions including; 1-1 support, safety plans, wellness & recovery action plans and social prescribing.Re-settlement and Re-integration Workers support the people using the service link in with statutory and other voluntary sector providers and access the local community. You will support service users reconcile themselves with their own intrinsic value throughouttheir stay, ensuring that Highbury Grove is co-produced with the service users as well as other local community and statutory organisations.About the role

  • Provide quality support and interventions to people experiencing a mental health crisis, during their stay at Highbury Grove.
  • To provide practical help and support in areas such as budgeting, nutrition, health care, life skills etc.
  • Find engaging ways to support SUs to build confidence, personal worth, motivation, emotional well-being and a positive work ethic.
  • Accompany SUs, where needed, to meetings or appointments where they need additional support.
  • Support SUs in discharge planning and building connections and resources in the community.
  • Connect SUs to community groups and networks that enable them to participate in community activities and progress in their recovery journey.
About you
  • Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Ability to work at some weekends and bank holidays.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills and able to produce clear written correspondence in hard copy or email.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, in particular Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
