Summary As a countryside property, the National Trust in the Peak District is at the forefront of conservationmanaging its estate through a small but dedicated team, to the highest international standards for conservation, access, and wider public benefits. AsArea Ranger youll lead the team in the day-to-day delivery of our land management and operations across the White Peak Estate. What its like to work here Based at Ilam near Ashbourne, the White Peak ranger team consists of six full-time rangers, two gardeners and a dedicated group of volunteers. Were ecologically minded, and people focussed. Were committed to delivering on the NationalTrust Land, Outdoors & Nature strategy and work, ensuring the White Peaks networks of special habitats, wildlife, and access are improved, enlarged and linked up, providing vital connected corridors across the landscape. What youll be doing As the Area Ranger youll manage a small team of Rangers working throughout the portfolio. Following the lead from the Propertys Business Plan youll build and manage an effective and flexible work programme for you and your team. Youll support your fellowrangers in undertaking engagement and conservation work, contributing towards HLS (Higher Level Stewardship) targets.Youll play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of presentation and property maintenance, successfully achieving Conservation Performance Indicator targets. Youll build and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, contractors,tenants, and neighbouring land managers.Youll also be responsible for helping with excellent communication of our conservation work to a wide range of audiences, both new and existing, through events, guided walks, and engagement with local communities.
