Job Description

  • Full time, permanent
  • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday - Thursday)
  • 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Fridays)
  • Points 5-6 (full-time salary range currently £23,500 to £23,893)
Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKSullivan Upper School is seeking an experienced Facilities Assistant to join their vibrant facilities team in Holywood. The successful applicant will be skilled in general building maintenance and repairs and will be able to operate a varietyof hand and electric tools.Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the maintenance of:
  • Buildings and Equipment- perform comprehensive routine maintenance, minor repairs, and refurbishment projects as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Grounds- Perform daily outdoor maintenance, including landscaping and controlling weed growth
  • Security- Perform after-hours responsibilities on a rota basis, including opening and closing the school and monitoring access
  • Facilities - manage end-of-day shutdown, monitor and enhance lighting/heating efficiency
  • Porterage- Manage receipt, transport, and distribution of school materials
  • Health and safety procedures- including safe evacuations, managing bin transportation, and maintenance

You will also carry out other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager, Bursar or Principal.The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a knowledgeable Facilities Assistant with a strong understanding of health and safety procedures. Our ideal candidate will:
  • Be able to demonstrate a minimum of one year of demonstratable, paid experience working as part of a facilities support team OR have 6 months experience within a facilities support role AND a relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ 2 or 3 in a building trade)
  • Be knowledgeable of health and safety regulations, COSHH, use of security systems as well as data protection
  • Be able to move/carry furniture, ladders, and other necessary equipment
  • Have a full UK driving license (desirable)
