Summary We are looking for a passionate, driven individual to be part of our ranger team focused on the conservation of this very special place. This is a Key Representative role - accommodation is provided to the postholder for the proper or better performance of his or her duties in accordance with Trust criteria and HMRC rules.In this role, youll need to work weekends, bank holidays and evenings and respond to out-of-hours incidents.This role is permanent and based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. What its like to work here At the heart of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Blakeney National Nature Reserve (NNR) boasts wide open spaces and uninterrupted views of the beautiful North Norfolk coastline. You will work as part of a teamof three, comprising yourself, another Assistant Ranger (also currently being recruited) and a Ranger, Duncan Halpin. Youll work on a rota basis, with at least 2 of you working at any one time. Duncan will over-see the work and assign tasks but all three roles report to the Countryside Manager, Chris Bielby, as their line manager. At times, you will be asked to work withother members of the Countryside Team (comprising 2 Area Rangers, 3 Rangers, an Assistant Ranger and a Harbour Master) and other colleagues on the North Norfolk Coast.Accommodation is provided in the Lifeboat House on Blakeney Point. Living right out on the Point is an incredible experience and allows you to fully immerse yourself in the incredible wildlife of the site. What youll be doing Youll work almost exclusively on Blakeney Point, where the main focus of your work will be the monitoring and conservation of the ground nesting bird assemblage, which comprises 4 species of tern and several Schedule 1 species. Youll work to deliver outstanding outdoors experiences for our visitors and excellent nature conservation work.Youll also work to help facilitate research within the NNR and promote the important work we do through various forms of media.
