Job Description

Role: Accounts Assistant - Sales Ledger ClerkContract: PermanentSalary: £24 - 26,000 depending on experience We are working on behalf of an award winning and growing company who is seeking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their growing Finance department. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on taking responsibility and overseeingall aspects of the Sales Ledger. The role demands a dedicated and motivated individual who is focused on ensuring that all transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner and that full recovery of debt is achieved.You would be joining an established team of 5 - Finance Director, Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Administrators. Further to your immediate team in Finance, you will be expected to work closely with the wider business,to ensure the business objectives are met. This is a full-time office based position working Monday to Friday 9am until 5.30pm.Role and responsibilities:

  • Working in a busy finance department with overall responsibility for the Sales Ledger and Credit Control
  • Responsible for raising regular and adhoc sales invoices
  • Responsible for handling customer queries and requests professionally
  • Process direct debit collection files
  • Collect outstanding debt by phone, email and if required through external agencies
  • Posting and allocating cash
  • Responsible for managing credit control
  • Supporting with producing MI for the Management Accountant or Finance Director as required
  • General accounts administration duties such as filing and archiving invoices
Skills and experience required:
  • Proven work history within a busy Finance or Accounts department
  • Demonstrable experience in sales ledger, credit control or accounts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment adhering to deadlines
  • Positive, proactive and enthusiastic mentality
  • Commercial acumen
