Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager to join an exciting, niche market engineering manufacturing organisation based in Norfolk.The Programme Manager is responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the fulfillment of assigned customer orders, from the time a programme is handed over by the Sales department until programme closure. The primary focus of the ProgrammeManager is to ensure complete satisfaction of assigned customers, maintaining cost, quality and schedule control, as well as the organisations quality and design standards. The Programme Manager has primary responsibility to maintain on time performance,quality, cost and weight targets.Ideal candidates for this role would have experience as a project manager in a product development and manufacturing environment and looking to progress in a project/programme management leadership role. You would be joining the business in a phase of significantgrowth and will have a flexible, proactive and energetic approach in line with such an environment.Key accountabilities and duties:

  • Manage programme from sales handover to programme closure with complete responsibility over cost, timeline, scope and quality of the product, in accordance with new product introduction (NPI) process.
  • Responsible for maintenance overall program timeline to support of agreed due dates at all times.
  • Manage programme scope and access the impact of scope changes.
  • Responsible for programme documentation.
  • Responsible to manage programme team to achieve project results.
  • Responsible for overall programme quality and performance.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and action plans in line with lessons learned procedure.
  • Provide support in the generation of sales proposals and bids through to successful conclusion.
  • Lead selected continuous improvement activities, e.g coordination of VA/VE, quality reviews, etc.
  • Take project management responsibility for minor product change actions and feature/product development initiatives.
  • Support development of companys project management capability in line with APM Competence Framework and APQP principles.
Some key requirements are:
  • Experience (minimum 3 years) of project or programme manager role in either a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good understanding of, and experience with, project planning software (e.g. MS Project).
  • The ability to communicate, present and lead meetings effectively at all levels.
