Job Description

Our client is an established transport/storage company, based on the outskirts of Derby.They are presently looking to appoint an ambitious and trained Workshop Technician as a Workshop Supervisor. You will be responsible for managing the existing team in order to maintain a fleet of LGV and HGVs. General duties will entail:

Inspecting, diagnosing, testing, dismantling, overhauling and repair
Allocation and monitoring of apprentices
Conducting out road tests
Performance of emergency road repairs
Carrying out scheduled fleet maintenance tasks
Preparation of vehicles and trailers for MOT
Promote a culture of preventative maintenance
Carry out light fabrication work
Upkeep of maintenance records
Liaise with suppliers of rental vehicles with regards to PMIs, servicing and breakdowns
Supervise all aspects of vehicle and trailer repair
Ad hoc duties as may be required

In order to carry out this role, it is expected that the successful candidate will have a good level of proven experience within a workshop environment.
