Job Description

Our client a leading mid-range dairy / morning goods distribution company with multiple sites across the UK.They are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the night shift, who will report to the Depot Manager and work closely with the office supervisor, warehouse operatives, drivers and hygeine staff.The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the effective, daily running of the warehouse, staff and despatch area, ensuring that safety, efficiency and compliance requirements are observed at all times.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for checking all drivers and site users observe PPE & HACCP guidelines
  • Supporting the Depot Manager with Fleet Transport
  • Ensuring that all visitors/contractors have signed in and completed necessary paperwork
  • Checking that all delivery paperwork is fully completed.
  • Checking and signing all work and paperwork relating to the Hygiene Technicians has been completed to a high standard
  • Notifying management by email of any issues of employee non-compliance / misconduct, which needs escalation to written verbal / disciplinary stage
  • Providing cover for deliveries, where there is shortage of drivers, or additional deliveries
  • To provide cover for the Depot Manager in case of sickness/absence/annual leave
  • To provide support with customer complaint handling
  • To interview/recruit/train new drivers/warehouse staff
  • Ensuring that the warehouse is kept clean, safe and in working order
  • Ensuring all drivers arrive to work on time and leave for their deliveries
  • Daily maintenance of the Attendance Record
  • Observe and support that the HACCP Quality Management System and Covid 19 Regulations are followed
  • Supervising all stock control, deliveries and discrepancies.
  • To ensure the commitment set out in the Company Food Safety and Quality Policy is responsible implemented within the business operations.
    • Key Requirements:
  • Have supervisory experience, ideally in a distribution, service orientated environment
  • Good supervision and planning skills
  • Skilled in handling operational / logistics issues in a professional manner
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to communicate clearly and motivate all Depot employees.
  • IT literate to a good standard
  • Must have a clean driving licence
  • Able to do overtime if and when necessary
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Health & Safety is desirable

  • Hours : Midnight to 8.00 am, 6 days per week
