Position : Maintenance Manager Sector : Metals manufacturing, welding/fabricationLocation : BarnsleySalary : £35,000-£45,000 (£35,000 basic and overtime)Shifts : Days onlyMain Responsibility:Multi-skilled hands-on maintenance management role requiring both proactive and reactive safe maintenance to maximise the up time and efficient operation and availability of the plant.Main Duties :Work as part of a team whilst supporting and training others to achieve objectivesDeliver high standards of health & safety throughout the department to reduce riskManage external contractors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safelyKey Responsibilities:Hands on management of shift-based engineering resource for all reactive, preventative and predictive maintenanceSupervise engineering resource and enforce high levels of health and safety standardsGenerate suitable job specific Risk assessments and Method statements prior to commencing workManage routine maintenance tasks within all areas of the site and repair of any issues found.To be proactive with their shift team in the equipment / process continuous improvementCarry out routine equipment installations as required with the teamEnsure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with regulations, and follows safety requirementsOptimise and enhance the company PPM strategyMentor and guide apprentices on all aspects of maintenanceEnsure agreed individual and team performance objectives are achieved, on time within budgeted costs to the required standardResponsibility for the integration of any new processes, both organic or acquired, into the CompanyImplement company policy and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation for Health, Safety and Environment and all relevant codes of practiceEffective communicator to ensure good liaison between all departmentsLiaise with customers and suppliers as required towards enhancing the performance and reputation of the company, portray a positive and prestigious image and act in a business like and professional manner at all timesProduce monthly Management Meeting reports outlining performance, progress, plans and ideas.Control and monitor each project cost and spend in line with the agreed project limit and ensure competitive purchasing for all consumables, services and whole goodsOrganize and maintain a well-organized library of company documents and internal and external reports and data.Fully computer literate and able to operate the companies Computerised Maintenance Management System CMMS and Microsoft OfficeAbout You :HND/HNC in Engineering - an electrical bias is preferred but we will also consider mechanically biased people17th Edition or 18th Edition regulationsC&G 2391 Inspection and testingIOSH qualificationFamiliar with fabrication and welding environmentAble to read engineering drawingsMicrosoft office skillsCMMS experience Familiar with MRP systems
