Job Description

Reed has a client in the FMCG industry who are recruiting foranAccounts Assistant to playa crucial role in providing administrative and bookkeeping support to their finance team. Their responsibilities include a mix of clerical tasks and financial dutiesand will report directly into the Finance Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Invoicing and Payments:
    • Prepare and send invoices to clients or customers.
    • Monitor payment deadlines and follow up on late payments.
    • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
  2. Record Keeping and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records.
    • Create new customer accounts as needed.
    • Handle correspondence, filing, and printing.
  3. Bank Reconciliations:
    • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Collect monthly direct debits and process payments.
  4. Support for Management Accounts:
    • Assist in preparing management accounts and month-end duties.
    • Enter journals into the accounting system.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Handle general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills: Successful candidates for thisrole will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and organisational abilities to ensure smooth office operations.
  • Basic Accountancy Knowledge: Solid understanding of low-level accountancy principles and basic bookkeeping.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using office software and Sage Accounting Software.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in handling financial records.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 AAT or above or equivalent
