Job Description

Senior Care AssistantLocation: Hemlington, MiddlesbroughSalary: £10.50 per hourJob Type: Full Time, PermanentOur client is a well-stablished purpose-built care home located on Stainton Way in Hemlington within the town of Middlesbrough. Their main objective is to provide first class quality and person-centred care within a homely and ambient environment.The company are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join the team.The RoleTo ensure optimum levels of person-centred care is delivered consistently to all service users creating a welcoming, caring and engaging environment for all residents, visitors and employees within the home.Providing continued support to less experienced employees enabling them to contribute fully to the care team overall.Role RequirementsQualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (Preferred)
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in care for care homes with a desire to work towards achieving NVQ 3
  • Medication Management qualification or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with the client group
  • Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards & mandatory training needs of staff (desirable)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Computer skills are an advantage.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead staff and act responsibly in the absence of the manager
  • Effective interpersonal skills to lead and guide staff
  • Up to date knowledge of H&S law including fire, moving & handling and COSHH
  • Have a positive attitude to developing staff and enhancing care of the residents
  • Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
  • Knowledge of the Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines for medication management in care homes (desirable)
