Job Description

NELFT are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join their Community Rehabilitation Service which has bases within both the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham. It is essential for the candidate to be able to travel efficiently across the boroughs in order to offer support at both sites as required.The Community Rehabilitation Service is a multi-disciplinary therapy team providing assessment and rehabilitation in a community setting for those with a range of progressive or acquired neurological conditions. The candidate will be required to use a range of administrative skills to support the service. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives, and other professionals is integral to the role as well as being able to prioritise workload in line with service demand.We are looking for a candidate who is a team player, enthusiastic, flexible and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.There may be an opportunity to increase this posts hours to 37.5 hours a week in the future.Essential criteria for the post include:

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy or numeracy
  • NVQ Administration/ Customer Service Level 3 or equivalent level of proven experience
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Ability to maintain efficient administrative systems
  • Have a good knowledge of IT including ability to effectively use Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word and databases
  • Understand the needs of clients and deal tactfully and sensitively with concerns
  • To be able to travel efficiently between the two CRS bases in the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham
  • Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. If you are shortlisted, invited for interview and successfully offered the post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks.Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
