Principal Psychologist (Part Time; 0.8 wte; 6 months fixed term)We are excited to be able to offer a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity for an experienced psychologist to join the mental health team at the Heathrow Immigration and Removal Centre (IRC). This vacancy is to provide cover for the team for a sixmonth period.Heathrow IRC accommodates approximately 1000 adult male detainees, both foreign national offenders and those seeking asylum in the UK. This senior post provides professional and clinical leadership to the psychology team as well as supporting the wider multi-disciplinaryteam which includes psycho-social workers, nurses, a service user lead and medics.We are keen to offer this opportunity to a psychologist with a clinical interest in and expertise in trauma informed approaches and who has the enthusiasm and leadership skills to continue to promote and develop the care we provide to the detainees. We areseeking a clinician with a real passion for high-quality clinical care and trauma informed working.In Health & Justice we employ a range of psychologists and psychological therapists with clinical, counselling and forensic trainings and you will be joining a directorate with over 50 psychologists who come together for professional and clinical developmentand supervision. In addition to our trauma informed work at the IRC, psychologists in Health & Justice work within the mental health services in eleven sites, across prisons, IRCs and secure hospitals, with children and adults, men and women and across therange of security categories.
