Job Description

Role: Financial AnalystType: Permanent, hybridSalary: £46,404 - 50,865Location: Leicestershire - hybrid workingSellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Analyst for our client based in Leicestershire.Purpose of the Financial Analyst role;As part of the Finance Business Partner Team, your role will be to develop and improve the provision of financial advice, analysis and information to support effective strategic decision making and the delivery of the medium-term financial strategy.Key responsibilities for the Financial Analyst are;

  • Providing strategic advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership team and elected members to support decision making, whilst challenging and influencing management to ensure the best outcome is obtained
  • Supporting the creation and delivery of the organisations medium-term financial strategy and corporate change agenda ensuring financial risks are quantified, mitigating actions are in place and spend remains within the confines of the funding allocation
  • Gaining sufficient understanding of the departmental business needs and its operations to evaluate strategic implications of financial issues ensuring managers have appropriate advice, knowledge and skills to discharge their financial responsibilities
  • Working as part of project teams to optimise funding streams, appraise options, produce financial business cases and provide on-going financial oversight through routine monitoring and regular updates
  • Supporting the development of management information and the related systems to improve the links between financial information, operational activity and outcomes: focusing on price and volume analysis, unit costing and benchmarking
  • Ensuring financial management policies and procedures are communicated and implemented effectively within the department, including supporting the Finance Business Partner in finding resolution to conflict priorities between the service department and thefinance function
The Ideal candidate for the Financial Analyst will have;
  • Hold a CCAB or equivalent qualification with relevant up to date membership
  • Have a proven ability to:
  1. Tailor written and verbal communication to meet different and diverse needs, maintaining consistency of key messages
  2. Build and maintain effective relationships that maximise co-operation across teams, services and organisational boundaries to achieve desired results
  3. Take responsibility for organising own work to achieve objectives (organisational and team) in order of priority and ensure outcomes are achieved
  4. Use a range of information to:
    1. support decision making and service planning,
    2. maximise the efficient use of resources and
    3. prioritise and review performance against targets set
  5. Demonstrate an appropriate level of influence and persuasion and be able to promote own case
  6. Gather information from external and internal sources to enhance problem solving and decision-making including ability to develop and articulate complex financial information to a range of stakeholders.
  7. Use Microsoft Office proficiently, especially Excel, and have had exposure to other systems ideally Oracle Fusion and PBCS, although similar budgeting platforms would also suit.
