Volunteer - Returning Officer & Deputy Returning Officer Warwick Students Union is looking for a Returning Officer (RO) & Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) for our 2021 Spring Elections. As a volunteer within the Governance & Influence Team you will be key in enforcing fairness and equality in our Spring Elections. Pay: This is a volunteer role; however, expenses will be paid. Warwick Students Union is one of more than 550 students unions across the country. And with more than 25,000 members, over 250 societies, over 60 sports clubs, hundreds of elected representatives, a huge range of services and a bold strategy, were one of the most exciting. Whats the job The Returning Officer is integral to upholding Democracy at Warwick Students Union; ensuring our elections are transparent and fair. The Returning Officer is responsible for approving Spring Election candidates. You will chair the advisory Adjudication Panel that oversees the complaints process during elections and All Student Meeting campaign periods. The Returning Officer works closely with the SUs Governance & Influence Team and the Democracy and Development Officer, as well as others on the Adjudication Panel, and will receive staff support during their time in the role. There can be up to 2 Deputy Returning Officers to support the Returning Officer. This is an opportunity to gain experience and work for the benefit of all students, ensuring their voice is heard.
