Job Description

Do you have previous experience with Instrumentation and Electrical maintenance supervision, with good working knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering maintenance and inspection processes If you answered yes, we have just the role for you!Our client is looking for an EC&I Maintenance Team Leader to join their team, based in Garelochhead. As a member of the Instrument & Electrical team, you will provide professional support for the maintenance and inspection of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems. This includes reactive, inspection, and preventative maintenance for critical equipment suchas LV electrical distribution systems, motors, drives, switch gear, fire alarms, Basic Process Control Systems, and instrumentation. You will ensure that all work is completed on time and in full compliance with company standards and UK/European legislation.Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure compliance with the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule for Control, Instrumentation, and Electrical (C,I&E) maintenance/.
  • Oversee and lead maintenance and inspection upgrade programs for all I&E systems.
  • Develop and periodically review management of safety instrumented systems and procedures, with the support of the Instrument & Electrical Superintendent. Safety Critical.
  • Write, implement, and review I&E maintenance-related procedures and safety instructions to ensure compliance with Statutory, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or Relevant Good Practice, and to ensure the OPA meets obligations under COMAH legislation.
  • Have excellent knowledge around preventative and predictive maintenance strategies (e.g., Reliability Centred Maintenance).
  • Provide I&E technical input into inspection findings to ensure continued fitness for service of assets and to ensure repairs are conducted in a timely manner and are compliant with the correct codes.
  • Have a working knowledge of current legislation and statutory/compliance requirements, including:
    • Electricity at Work Regulations
    • Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations
    • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
    • Relevant Functional Safety and Electrical Legislation
  • Ensure that accurate maintenance activities and asset technical records are always maintained. This should include, but is not limited to, individual asset technical specifications.
  • Have experience and knowledge of project management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Provide I&E engineering assistance to supervisors, Depot Engineers, and Technicians around fault finding and repair of plant and equipment.
  • Identify and initiate Management of Change processes where there is a change to procedures, plant & equipment, people, or substances.
  • Conduct audits on I&E systems, equipment, and maintenance strategies to ensure compliance with internal/external standards and maintain audit readiness.
This role is based at Garelochhead depot and will predominantly cover all the Scottish sites, with occasional cover for sites as and when required down on the South Coast of England, holiday cover for example. Qualifications:Candidates must have completed an accredited Engineering Craft or Technician discipline apprenticeship in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, or an equivalent qualification.
