Job Description

We are searching for a Careers Guidance Worker to take on a fantastic opportunity in one of the prisons we are supporting. If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable people and are looking for a new, challenging opportunity, this is the perfect rolefor you!Role Details:

  • Part Time- 18.5 Hours per week
  • Working hours 8:30am- 5pm
  • £22,018.25 - £24,588.07 (Pro Rata) based on skills/ qualifications
  • Permanent Role

They fulfil the Groups social mission by providing the learning, skills and opportunity that offenders need to build positivefutures for themselves, their families, and our communities.Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive, confidential and impartial information services on educational and training opportunities within the establishment and in the community
  • Work with service users on a one-to-one basis to develop skills related to resettlement such as employability and job seeking skills
  • Liaise with relevant IAG teams, agencies and stakeholders in custody and community and share relevant information in line with data protection in order to contribute to a consistent and continuous learning journey in custody and in the community
  • Promote processes leading to effective allocation to activities
  • Provide information regarding relevance to the current labour market that will inform curriculum reviews
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Advice and Guidance (Willing to work towards IAG level 4 qualification)
  • Track record of working effectively with clients who present with challenging behaviour
  • Experience of contributing to an IAG service that meets quality standards
  • Must have experience of working in an IAG role
