Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Sales to join an extremely reputable, family-run SME based in Aldridge. This role is responsible for delivering the sales and gross profit targets through a regionally focused sales team. The role holder willdevelop and execute the sales and growth plans, and oversee the planning, management, and execution of those plans, ensuring consistent growth and high levels of customer retention. This role will involve national travel. Most of the work is between Aldridge& London, however the role is Nationwide.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setting direction with clear objectives and KPIs
  • Giving performance feedback in monthly 121s and half yearly and annual reviews.
  • Coach and support development and growth
  • Assists in the development and execution of the sales strategy
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions, implementing change
  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan, with targets, objectives and initiatives for regions in support of national objectives
  • Maintains and expands customer base in line with national goals by coaching regional teams; building and maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer opportunities
  • Owns and optimises sales processes, identifying and recommending best practice to develop the sales organisation.
  • Collaborate with regional teams, operations, procurement and customers to create new solutions that drive revenue
  • Networks, Partners and Leads in representing the business at conferences, seminars and exhibitions and is seen as a recognised voice in the industry.
  • Collaborate with Marketing in the areas of sales conversion and customer maximisation to ensure highest possible conversion rates and reduced sales cycle.
  • Deliver sales meetings that inspire and drive accountability within the sales team along with quality sales content for continuous improvement
Requirements
  • BSc Degree in Sales, Business Management or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience in sales/sales management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Trained in advanced sales and consultative sales practices
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Manager/ Area Sales Manager or similar role
  • Appropriate experience with Key Account Management
  • Ability and proven experience to understand and analyse Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and ROI
  • Proven track record of managing a highly driven sales team
  • Proven experience in training and developing sales team to sell consultatively
  • Experience and understanding of the construction industry would be beneficial
Hours: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm (with a degree of flexibility)Benefits
