Head of Service Early HelpHours: 37 hours per weekOur amazing children and young people, and ourhighly motivated childrens workforce, make Derbyshire an energetic, excitingand friendly place in which to live and work. You will be based in one of themost beautiful areas of the country - Derbyshire has rugged moorlands andlimestone dales with historic market towns and pretty villages. It is home tothe Peak District National Park which is the worlds second most visitedNational Park, attracting tourists and those who enjoy the great outdoors. Following the establishment of a new Head ofService post in childrens services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for adynamic, innovative and motivated individual to join Derbyshire County Councilas Head of Service for Early Help. This post will have a crucial role to play in thestrategic leadership of early help services across Derbyshire, this includesmanagement responsibility for early help teams, childrens centres and theearly help Transition Team. Working closely with colleagues from acrosschildrens social care and specialist services, and together with keystakeholders, you will ensure the effective delivery of services to childrenacross the spectrum of early help. We are looking for an experienced and committedleader who has high aspirations for children and young people, who can motivateteams, is familiar with agile working and who can work at pace. Knowledge ofkey agendas in childrens services is crucial alongside evidence of yourstrategic work alongside key partners. You must be committed to continuousservice improvement, ensuring the views of parents and children remain at theheart of decision making. You will have experience of working within a diversecommunity and be able to maintain high quality practice while prioritisingcompeting demands. Applicants will have substantial leadership andmanagement experience and hold a related degree or equivalent qualification(e.g. Social Work, Probation, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing). A managementqualification is desirable. You will join an experienced and stable managementteam which benefits from strong peer support.
