Job Description

The OpportunityOur client, that provides national critical infrastructure is looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who can play a key role within the team to help maximise the cloud technologies being delivered.You will both provide support for live services for cloud technologies as well as deliver projects with both internal and external support vendors across a wide range of technologies.Within this role you also have the freedom to explore and provide the bestsolutions for the organisation and in turn develop your technical skills by supporting and configuring some challenging products and technologies.The business has a strong track record of developing people and will offerboth internal and external training, supporting certifications where required..The opportunity to work remotely exists where only occasional travel to one of their offices is required.The RoleAs an AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage incidents and requests to be resolved in an efficient and professional manner and in line with service level agreements. You will

  • Configure and deliver cloud services, 3rd party tools and integration.
  • Provide technical consultation on current and proposed cloud services.
  • Plan and scope highly available cloud solutions.
  • Support existing cloud services and infrastructure to the Service Desk team when required.
  • Maintain & create the required technical documentation.
  • Adopt a DEV OPS culture and keeping up to date with the latest cloud offerings in the industry.
  • Participate in an out of hours on-call rota.
The RequirementsAs a technically minded Cloud professional, with some experience in architecting and delivering cloud solutions, you possess a minimum of 3 years’ AWS experience, specifically with:
  • Experience of core AWS services – EC2, Storage, IAM, Databases, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateways & System Manager.
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code, with eg. CloudFormation, Terraform
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining code pipelines.
  • Ability to understand and maintain the AWS VPC network roles (Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, ACLs, NACLs, Peering & Route Tables).
  • DevOps – understanding of continuous delivery and continuous integration.
Experience with SNS Lambda and Route53 and/or AWS certifications will be beneficial, though not essential.Fundamental to the role is the ability to offer exceptional customer service through excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organisational skills.
