Our client, a busy school based in High Peak, are looking for an experienced Cook to join their catering team.You will be responsible for menu planning, ordering provisions and producing food and beverage services for young people, staff, parents and visitors in the school day.Duties include - - To plan, prepare, cook and serve food to meet the cultural needs and interests of the young people, staff, parents and visitors. Cater for any special one off requirements including occasional school or home functions, i.e. Awards events- To supervise any junior staff, ensuring that the agreed standards and targets are maintained.- To meet all statutory requirements for Ofsted and Local Authority Hygiene inspections- To promote and participate in a positive approach to Health and Safety in the delivery of all High Peak School catering operations- Promote effective waste management within the dining room and kitchen.- To keep abreast of new initiatives, systems and regulations through regular training- To produce a termly menu plan for the school and home in conjunction with the school council and the individual homes.- Provide supplies for the successful delivery of food technology and vocational hospitalityWorking hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm, this is an ongoing temporary position, pay rate is £9.00 per hour.
