Job Description

With ISO9001 accreditation, we are committed to world class manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement.Curtiss-Wright are hiring an Inspector / Stores Operative to join our team based at Cwmfelinfach in Gwent. This position will involve a mix of Inspector and Stores duties and the successful candidate will be adaptable to work in both areas as required. You will be highly motivated, able to work independently and bring both Inspector and stores experience to the role. You will have strong measuring experience and familiar with working to high levels of accuracy at all times.The Challenge:

  • Performing a wide variety of inspections including checking and testing for quality control for the manufacturing of Curtiss-Wright products
  • Operating the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and ensuring high levels of accuracy at all times
  • Checking testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within an Inspector role
  • Carrying out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met
  • Monitoring critical equipment and instrumentation
  • Preparing product verification documentation. Assist with drafting procedures and validate or troubleshoot testing methods
  • Responsibility for accepting, rejecting and ordering rework of the item
  • Working under minimal supervisor to ensure all tasks assigned to the Inspection and Stores Department are completed in a timely manner
  • Working with Engineers and the wider team to collaborate across all business areas as needed
  • Covering a variety of stores work including shipping & receiving, goods-in, storage, checking goods, rejecting items and maintaining records
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment
  • Lifting heavy items and operating a forklift (full training will be provided to obtain a license)
  • Your Expertise:
  • Proven experience as an Inspector ideally from an Engineering/Manufacturing background or similar
  • Previous stores experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • CMM experience
  • Adaptability to be able to work across multiple departments in two roles completing all tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Forklift certification or willingness to train to obtain a license
  • Computer literate
