Job Description

We are hiring! We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team and we are actively on the lookout for an Accounts Assistant. Initially the role is as maternity cover, but may lead to a permanent position, to coincide with our future growth plans.A. Perry Ltd are a leading supplier of ironmongery, hardware chain, fixings and fasteners into a range of customers in the UK.Purpose of the role:Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will build professional and reliable relationships with our suppliers and customers as well as internal colleagues to ensure month end deadlines are met.Key responsibilities including but not limited to:Purchase Ledger

  • Entering and coding purchase invoices
  • Liaising with staff for authorisation of purchase invoices
  • Investigating and resolving purchase queries
  • Statement reconciliation
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Creating new supplier accounts
  • Manage petty cash
  • Accounts Administration
  • Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
  • Generate Customer invoices
  • Answer customer queries by email and telephone
  • Filing - e-scanning and paper files
  • Assistance with year-end audits
  • Reporting
  • Assistance in preparing management accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Journal entry
  • Accruals & Prepayments
  • Support in Budget / forecast
  • Monthly goods received not invoiced report
  • What skills are we looking for:To be successful in the role, we are looking for someone who has excellent organisation and time management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is necessary with the ability to meet deadlines. You will be fully conversant in Microsoft Excel and other office packages. AAT or equivalent, qualified/part qualified, is desirable but not essential. A minimum of 1 years’ experience in accounts payable or a general accounting role is essential for this position.A bit more about us:A.
