Do you care passionately about ensuring patients and carers are directed to the most appropriate service for their needsAre you an excellent communicator with fantastic telephone skillsDo you have a range of IT skillsAre you confident working in a priority driven environmentIf you have answered yes to the above questions, you could be just the person we are looking for.An exciting opportunity has arisen with the West Kent Local Referral Unit to work within a warm, friendly and dedicated team.The role is varied and the successful candidate will undertake duties which will include answering calls from service users, administrative duties and following the correct protocols for the department.Experience of working within a Local Referral Unit is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.Applicants will need to demonstrate sensitive communication skills and a robust understanding of patient confidentiality and the General Data Protection Regulations.The hours of work are Saturday and Sunday 08.00-17.00. Occasional weekday, bank holiday and evening cover may be necessary.Please note that this is for a 15 month fixed term contract.Successful applicants are required to have the qualification level specified in the person specification in order to carry out the job, however, we do welcome applicants from individuals wishing to further their knowledge and skills and to gain this recognised qualification, which we will support. So if you do not have the essential qualification for the role, this may not be an automatic barrier to you being offered an interview.If you are successful at interview but do not have the essential qualification for the role, we will employ you as a trainee and will support you to gain this qualification. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team, gaining valuable work experience and continuing to get paid.
