Job Description

VAC: 248Head of Operations -Waste ManagementLocation: Nottinghamshire (Must Live within a 45 min commute)Package: Highly competitive basic salary, Management bonus of 20%, Pension 6% matched, life assurance x 3, 25 days holiday + stats.LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a well-established market leading Recycling and Resource Management company. Due to expansion there is now an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Head of Operations to join their senior management team in Nottingham.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the company?s largest waste treatment site and a number of smaller local sites.
  • Hands on Senior management position with 5 direct reports.
  • This is a brand-new role created to support the General Manager so he can focus more on strategic drivers for the business.
  • Budget Responsibility of over £30m - Lead, develop and deliver performance improvement plans ensuring the achievement of budgets and overall company performance targets through the leadership team.
  • Develop and expand relationships with external stakeholders and organisations to ensure the protection and success of the business.
  • Lead and direct the site leadership team, ensuring that functional objectives (KPIs) for each Manager/Leader are achieved.
  • Establish and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders, organisations, potential new business, and other outside bodies.
  • Identify level of revenue loss and take corrective action.
  • Lead the LEAN agenda for the site ensuring the continuous improvement of all site operations.
  • This is a 24/7 operation, there will be occasions where you will be required to attend work out of normal working hours
    • Essential Experience / Knowledge Required:
  • Experience within a Heavy Engineering, Manufacturing or waste industry environment is essential.
  • P & L and budgetary experience is essential.
  • You will be a driven, results focused leader with both commercial acumen and the ability to drive operations.
  • Proven change management experience.
  • Must have experience of people management, Lean principles and driving profitability.
  • Understanding of EA rules and HSE requirements.
  • Experience with the Implementation of 5?s and Lean methodologies knowledge and experience.
    • Essential Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in business or engineering
  • Excellent IT skills (MS applications & production software)
    • Desirable:
  • NEBOSH
  • WAMITAB Lean Six Sigma
