Job Description

SENIOR ENGINEERING TEAM LEADERHMP PARC, BRIDGEND, CF35 6APHours:40 hoursSalary: £35,500 per annumPermanent, Full Time, 40 hours per weekBenefits:Company Pension, free on-site parking, staff canteen, free uniform, access to High Street Shop discounts,local Gym discounts and extensive training and development.Within Care and Rehabilitation Services, the philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outsidecommunity. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and causes of prison stress are minimised. Central to our philosophy is the relationship between staff and prisoners. Our training and operational practices emphasise theneed to treat prisoners with dignity and respect and G4S staff build positive and supportive relationships with the prisoners in their care. HMP & YOI Parc accommodates 1038 convicted male adult prisoners and remand/ convicted young offenders and young peoplein a secure but modern environment.We now have an opportunity for a Senior Engineering Team Leader to join our Facilities Management Team at HMP Parc. The role requirements are to adequately resource and develop the delivery of a diverse range of FM services to meet both the operational andcontractual requirements, ensuring service level agreements are adhered to and CDI measured tasks are completed within scheduled timelines. Responsible for the adherence to the G4S Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures in all work carriedout.Actively promote the importance and values of effective communication throughout G4S of environmental / Quality / H&S good practice, compliance and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:

  • To detail the resources requirements to meet daily maintenance schedules.
  • To deliver a robust Planned & Reactive maintenance task schedule across all three teams to meet CDI criteria within 7.1 & 7.2 penalty clauses.
  • Responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed and records provided accordingly.
  • To liaise with the operational prison staff and provide advice and knowledge regarding service issues.
  • To liaise with Sub Contractors over the service and maintenance of assets located across the site, ensuring records are kept up to date and available for inspection/audit.
  • To Coach and develop skilled teams to meet operational and business needs in a timely manner.
  • To support the team in continually reviewing operational procedures to ensure maximum operational effectiveness.
  • Develop & support positive team ethos within FM working group
  • To ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • To ensure that all tools & stores items including consumables e.g. drill bits, hack saw blades etc. are accounted for at all times.
  • To demonstrate the ability to work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • To be flexible and assist with any tasks required to be completed by the Facilities Department.
  • To ensure that the Facilities Department, areas of work and stores are kept in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by Management.
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent Organisational & Leadership qualifications & skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to handle issues of high sensitivity
  • A recognised Engineering / Maintenance trade qualification.
  • A high level understanding of building fabric and M&E services
Desirable Skills:
  • Understanding of Maintenance contract delivery and its role within organisation.
  • A high level understanding of Building fabric and M&Eservices.
