Job Description

Our client is looking for an experience or aspiring People Manager to join their high-performing people team, supporting the People & Culture Director, the People & Recruitment Officer and the wider business in the delivery of people related projects acrossthe business, with a particular focus on employee benefits, employee relations and compliance/regulation.AccountabilitiesThe role comprises, but is not restricted to the following core people projects:1. Employee benefitsWork closely with the People & Culture Director and Employee Benefits Director to:o Liaise and co-manage relationships with key providerso Manage the annual renewal process from the People Teams perspectiveo Manage comms to staff around core benefit propositiono Lead on proposals for the introduction of new or changing benefits in terms of research, business case preparation and implementationo Be involved in the assessment of providers and platformso Investigate the potential for a forward-looking and flexible benefits package for our people to be launched in the next 1-2 years.2. Compliance and regulatory responsibilitiesLead on managing the people aspects of the compliance and regulatory regime, notably SMCR, collaborating closely with the compliance teamManage liaison with compliance team re: FCA data requests and surveys Manage process and task plans for the management and implementation of new of regulatory change.3. Employee relationsPlay a key role in the management and execution of:o Dismissals, redundancies and other settlementso Underperformance issueso Health and mental health issues, including occupational health liaison where necessaryo Low-level issues and dispute resolution.In addition, the role will work collaboratively with the People & Culture Director and People & Recruitment Officer to cover the following:1. Acquisitions and integrationsSupport with due diligence requests, analysis and resource planning for people-related aspects of acquisition and integration projects e.g.o Induction planning for new starterso Contract negotiations and TUPE transferso Preparing due diligence requests for potential acquisitionso Reviewing due diligence data and highlighting key issues to the acquisition team.2. Policy and people logisticsContribute to the development and maintenance of people policy across core areas of responsibilityCollaborate with the wider ops team to manage People Team tasks associated with the office and operational projects e.g. office hours, hybrid working logistics, events, office scoping, etcAssist with the management of people admin and ad-hoc requests where necessary.3. Recruitment and selectionSupport the People & Recruitment Officer and People & Culture Director with the recruitment process as and when necessary e.g. at role creation, selection and interview stages and occasionally managing specific roles.4. HR project work Depending on the experience levels and interests of the successful candidate, there will be an opportunity to get involved with People Team project work in some or all of the following:o Engagement, Awards & CSRo L&Do Pay & Rewardo Performance Managemento D&Io Succession Planningo Values and Cultureo Health and Wellbeingo And more!Experience and QualificationsThe successful candidate will: Have minimum 3 years experience in a relevant people role in a comparable organisation. Experience within financial services will be a distinct advantage, but is not essentialBe familiar with FCA regulations in an IFA setting or an equivalently heavily regulated business sector Be able to demonstrate practical experience of 80%+ of the key accountabilities described in this role specification.CompetenciesWe need someone who can: Be passionate about the people and culture agenda!
