Job Description

To carry out comprehensive quality assurance testing for all product developments, enhancements and fixes for our software, which will include release and system testing. To ensure that the quality of our software is maintained at the highest possible levels, increasing the satisfaction of customers and reducing the number of issues.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Software Tester, you are responsible for ensuring an exceptional online customer experience through managing the business test framework assisting in the transition of releases into the live environment.You will undertake the required testing to ensure that the service delivered meets business requirements. You will be someone who enjoys a collaborative environment, who will support the Development Team Leader in delivering a full test service and maintain a close relationship to clarify requirements with development teams and product owners, ensuring a quick testing turn around.Reporting in to the Development Manager, this is an important role within the IT department, giving the holder the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the organisation.In order to be successful in the role this will require:

  • Work with an agile software development team, ensuring high quality software releases, focusing on functional, system and user interface testing.
  • Create and manage system, performance, Automated and UAT testing of client sites
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artefacts like test data, data validation scripts, harness scripts and automated scripts.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan and test case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Work closely with developers to investigate the causes of defects and help develop solutions.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • A strong focus on process improvement within the delivery teams with a clear objective of improving quality assurance and increasing efficiency within the delivery pipeline
  • Maintaining awareness and then introducing the latest (appropriate) techniques and practices to our product testing
  • Supporting releases and service deliveries into production environments
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.
    • Skills and Experience Required
  • Proven technical skills as a User Acceptance Test Analyst, with the ability to design, build and execute manual and automated test scripts that can verify the software satisfies both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experienced in developing test plans and coordinating testing activities between internal business Functions (including technical and change management) and 3rd party teams.
  • Experience of testing APIs (Manual and Automation)
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment (SCRUM, Kanban, DSDM, TDD, BDD)
  • Practical and demonstrable experience of Performance and automation example tools - (Selenium / LoadRunner / Cucumber / SoapUI / JMeter)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) including the ability to understand, present and explain complex information to a range of audiences.
