Job Description

The Recruitment co are recruiting on behalf of our client, a wholesale company in Cheadle, for a Handyman/Maintenance Operative.This role will be 12 weeks temporary with the agency, after these 12 weeks the contract will be made permanent providing a successful 12 weeks.Hours of work & Rate of pay£12.98 per hourMonday to Friday8am-5pmRequirements

  • Proven experience in general maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain, service and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment as directed by the Head
of engineering.
  • Perform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering,
machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
  • Install appliances and equipment.
  • Drive forklifts, JCB, tractors and plant machinery.
  • Check functionality of safety systems.
  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations and building projects.
  • Report to Head of engineering for issues.
  • Do garden/yard maintenance by mowing, collecting trash etc.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment.
  • Document repairs and maintenance.
