Job Description

As in-house recruiters for DENSO Marston in Shipley we have an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to join the Quality Team to focus on the management and development of the companys supplier base. The main activities will include overseeingall quality aspects related to a suppliers new product introduction as well as managing existing suppliers.Working Hours/BenefitsMon - Thurs: 8:30am - 5:00pmFriday: 8:30am - 1:30pmFlexi-time of 30 minutes at either side of the core hours are available MonThursExcellent pension scheme, private medical insurance and generous company benefits, plus free on-site parking.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for auditing and approving new suppliers to DNMN in line with our Supplier Quality Assurance manual and procedures.
  • Manage supplier quality performance by monitoring, communicating and developing improvement activities working with suppliers.
  • Manage immediate supplier quality concerns by coordinating activities to mitigate risks and secure supply of good quality parts to DNMN.
  • Manage the development of non-performing suppliers ensuring that robust action plans are implemented. Closely follow up these action plans.
  • Regularly audit suppliers to ensure development activities are on track and any risks are identified and mitigated by joint activity with suppliers.
  • Track the suppliers APQP timing plans ensuring that the key gateways are achieved.
  • Carefully review the suppliers control plans and FMEAs prior to project launch to ensure that these are effective for quality assurance to DNMN culminating in the PPAP/PSW approval.
  • Conduct thorough product and process audits prior to sign off to ensure supplier readiness.
  • Manage and promote DNMN supplier quality awards in line with our procedure. Responsibilities include getting submissions, evaluations and signoff.
  • Will be an active IATF16949 auditor participating in internal audits.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree in mechanical, production or automotive engineering related discipline (this is desirable not essential)
  • Significant practical supplier quality assurance experience.
  • Experience of working for an automotive supplier or a similar high volume production environment
  • Strong and proven problem solving skills.
  • Be competent in the use of core tools (8D, 5Y, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Full driving license.
