Job Description

Vibrant and growting organization is looking for a Networks and Infrastructure Engineer to support the current and future deployed infrastructure. You will work closely with the team to assist with building out services for lasting support and delivery of business systems which facilitate the business.The role sits within the N&I Team of approx. 8 and the team really work as a team; all members of the team are able to work across a range of N&I areas from SANS and networks to VMWare. Team work and enjoyment of this sort of setting will be essential, as will the ability to communicate effectively with peers and the business.You will have the opportunity to work with a number of technologies across a vast estate with over 700 servers across Windows and SUSE. and in addition to BAU, there will be a range or projects in the next 12-18 months, from major technology refreshes to acquisitions.Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to the existing infrastructure and systems
  • Ensure service delivery against SLA’s
  • Communicate effectively across the team, department and business
  • Document processes, low-level and high-level design documents and contribute to design of future systems
  • Peer review documentation within the team
  • Support project delivery timescales
  • Follow established Change Management processes
  • Provide support both within the team and to end users, department heads and directors where needed
  • Be capable to act as a liaison between the business and third-party support companies and contractors

  • You will be a team player, interested in having experience across the whole N&I space and who can get stuck in.
  • You will be able to adapt and understand the business requirements to ensure solutions are fit for this business, not just off the shelf or best practice in theory.
  • You are likely to have at least 2 years experience in a 2nd / 3rd line infrastructure support role
  • You might also be looking for a step up…perhaps you’ve been working at 2nd line level and want to step up and they will consider that.
  • Experience of working within an ITIL support environment
  • Able to work in a setting where planning, self starting, organisation and communication are key
  • Likely to have experience of contributing to major project streams within IT and the wider business, either by recommending improvement, assessing capability or advising with regard to technology or process.
  • Able to evidence establishing documented workflows and procedure.
  • Qualifications in the following desirable, but not essential; MCSE or MCITP, Cisco CCNA or CCNP, VCP, ITIL Foundation.
