Job Description

M&E Supervisor Central London - Static SiteFM Building Services £55,000Insight Executive are working with a leading FM Service Provider to recruit for an electrical-biased M&E Supervisor to work on a corporate account in Central London. This is a high-spec office environment and in the role you M&E Supervisor you will be responsiblefor leading the engineering team, providing administrative support to the site manager, training and mentoring staff and maintaining electrical equipment.Purpose of the M&E Supervisor role

  • Undertake maintenance and reactive activity to a wide range of Electrical Building Services equipment including but not limited to LV systems, general lighting, building controls, small power, and distribution, BMS systems and other equipment found in moderncommercial/industrial premises
  • Undertake within your levels of competency, inspection and reactive activity wide range of Mechanical Building Services equipment including but not limited to heating boilers, pumps, compressed air systems, sanitary ware, fan coil and air handling unitsand BMS systems and other equipment found in modern commercial/industrial premises.
  • Be an essential part of the local team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of all M&E and building services and fabric equipment on the site.
  • To work with other engineers to provide a core presence at client sites within an extended weekday period.
  • To undertake weekend/out of hours working to complete intrusive maintenance activities that cannot be undertaken in client operating hours.
  • Direct management of Engineering staff and deputise for Technical Services Manager.
  • Management of documents work orders via CAFAM system, daily with helpdesk.
  • Working in line with the Permit to Work System.
  • To implement systems that will ensure plant is maintained and operated to its optimum efficiency.
  • Participate in departmental energy saving schemes and promote the understanding and importance of the economic use of energy.
Main Responsibilities of the role
  • Inspecting completed electrical works.
  • Trouble shooting system failures and equipment malfunctions.
  • Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Ensure planned and reactive tasks are completed in a timely and compliant completion.
  • Work in partnership with the Helpdesk Administration team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Providing administrative support to the site manager.
  • Overseeing operations when the manager is absent.
  • Monitor all tradesmen on-site to ensure compliance with all H&S requirements.
  • Must work well within a team and support other engineers whilst able to make decisions based upon own knowledge and initiative.
  • To be available on a Rota basis for emergency call outs or critical system failures.
  • Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Undertake training and appointment as an AP/CP in appropriate disciplines.
  • Be proactive to identify and report faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve.
  • Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required.
The person spec
  • A City and Guilds/NVQ Level 1, 2, 3 qualification in Electrical.
  • Experience of PPM, reactive and installation work.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, PDA’s etc).
  • A good knowledge of health and safety.
  • Experience in operating BMS.
  • HVAC & mechanical systems knowledge.
  • To become an authorized person within six months of appointment to undertake LV/HV Authorised Person duties.
