Job Description

Internal Communications - FTC£45,000Central London – mainly remote (really flexible)Experience within a Membership organisation is highly desirable for this role. A fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, proactive Internal Communications professional to join a Membership body in London on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. You will work in a 360 standalone role taking responsibility for internal communications strategyand implementation. You will have 2-3 years’ proven experience planning and executing effective internal communications campaigns to support organisational change. ROLE:

  • Creating compelling and engaging internal communications across various media
  • Managing internal communication plans/campaigns for various business initiatives, including those which support a member-centric culture
  • Managing and overseeing an organisation-wide editorial calendar of internal communication-related activities, helping to centrally coordinate content and ensure a purposeful flow through a variety of communication channels
  • Advising colleagues how best to use our internal platforms and channels for their communications needs
  • Applying working knowledge of effective change management principles/models
  • Content management of the Membership intranet communications needs
  • With the Chief of Staff and Director of Strategy, support the CEO’s programme of internal engagement and visibility, via written communications employee events, presentations, briefing packs and internal videos
  • Develop strong and effective relationships with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), senior managers, and other key stakeholders within the organisation to understand and support their internal communications objectives linked to the strategic narrative,direction and ELT’s vision for the organisation
  • Advise leaders and managers on internal communications for their change initiatives linked to the Strategy and Corporate Plan
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • 2-3 years’ proven experience in a dedicated internal communications role
  • Experience within a membership body
  • Demonstrated experience driving the planning, development and delivery of internal communications that support organisational/cultural change – balancing both strategic design and tactical implementation
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and credibility at all levels of an organisation
  • Proven ability to proactively manage competing priorities and prioritise work accordingly
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience of adapting style to suit different audiences and formats
  • Eye for detail, with ability to review and edit documents for clarity, consistency and quality
